Wagner Tuning’s high-performance intercooler core delivers a massive increase in cooling efficiency, featuring a 165% larger frontal area and 223% more volume compared to the factory-mounted intercooler. By increasing core size and optimising efficiency, while redesigning the end tanks to eliminate OEM bottlenecks, this intercooler significantly improves airflow and charge-air cooling. The kit utilises the award-winning WAGNERTUNING Competition Intercooler Core, developed specifically for this application.
Manufactured using premium tube-fin intercooler cores with internal turbulators and cast aluminium end tanks optimised via CFD, this system ensures maximum internal airflow. Factory clip connections are replaced with larger Ø65mm (2.56”) inlet and Ø76mm (3”) outlet connections. The kit includes reinforced silicone hoses and aluminium charge pipes, resulting in excellent cooling performance with substantially reduced pressure drop compared to the stock intercooler.
Despite its increased size, the complete intercooler assembly weighs just 13.8kg. This makes the EVO III Competition Intercooler Kit the ideal choice for high-performance road cars and motorsport use, delivering consistently low intake temperatures and increased power. All Wagner intercoolers feature an anti-corrosion protective coating with excellent heat-dissipation properties.
The BMW Competition Intercooler Kit EVO III core dimensions are 510mm x 345mm x 180mm (stepped), with a total volume of 23.56 litres.
The kit is supplied ready for installation and includes an adapted cross member for a straightforward replacement of the factory components. Installation is simple, requiring only minor trimming to the plastic cooler support. Every Wagner Tuning product is subject to rigorous quality control procedures.
